New adventures got me frustrated as hell
Sunday. 11.12.06 2:35 pm
First of all hell is not a bad word because it is in the bible.

So I am trying to understand what RSS feed is. It is so frustrating because it is something too difficult for me to understand and teach myself and yet I really want to learn it.

My head is spinning because of these words:

Word press
wp themes
text and rss
README - I read you damn (another word in the bible) it and i STILL dont understand!!

ARRGH!!!!! I give up!!!

Haha I'm terribly sorry
Here are a few things you can find just by looking it up:

Word Press: A software that allows web publishing for frequently updated content...a.k.a. weblogs. It's free.

Bookmarklet: a javascript program that can be saved in a bookmark as though it were a URL.

ReadME: READMEs are just text documents that come with downloaded applications or software. Sometimes they have installation instructions, sometimes they have record of all the updates a program has had, or maybe something else. They just want you to read them, that's all :)

Heh sry I couldn't fill you in with the rest of them...because either I coudln't find them or the definitions were just too confusing anyway. But I think if you wanted to figure out what RSS was you should just give it a try...understanding through experience is always the easiest.

So yeah, glad you liked the layout :) Haha I'm a rabid fan of The Matrix trilogy so you'll have to get used to it ;-)

I wonder if scriptalicious is anything like emolicious?

RSS: A type of automatic update system. I asked my boyfriend so he could be thinking of a different RSS then what you're asking about. :)

I saw this through Blogmad.net and at first I got thrown off because of the new banner...I like...even if the series turned into filler hell... :)

I will try to explain it without too much technological jargon. Essentially an RSS is file is an updated file (XML) with new posts from a source. And then a site can 'subscribe' to the feed. An example is like Yahoo will have tickers that scroll info across it. You will see sources such as AP (the Associated Press), CNN or the like. This allows Yahoo to offer all the latest news from sources that are "in the know" without doing extra work. It's done automatically by showing the RSS feed.

Now, anyone can use an RSS reader to 'subscribe' to any RSS feed which will allow you to pull in info from whatever sources. LIke say you want to keep up on the lives of five friends and they all offer RSS, you can subscribe to them with an RSS reader and all of their latest information that they post (entries) will be fed to you.

Maybe this helped. if not, I can always try harder to explain it. Or..less hard haha
