I may be old fashioned but I believe in an "eye for an eye". If someone commits murder, kills their parents, children, or anyone for personal gain, should receive the same punishment. The death penalty is outlawed in some states but someone like that crazy nut at Virginia Tech should have not been able to take the easy way out. Someone else should have shot him point blank. If he were captured and imprisoned justice would not have been done. There are so many laws to protect someone like him. Still, I feel that one of the family members, best friends, etc should have been the one to pull the trigger.

I don't know. I kinda see what you're saying, but this is how I roll:
I don't like the death penalty simply because I KNOW humans are stupid and WOULD sentence someone to death that didn't even do a damn thing wrong. And that would just be TOO jacked up.
Not to mention, if someone DID do something jacked up like the Virginia Tech thing, then I wouldn't want imprisonment. I'm not for the death penalty, but I'm ALL for punishment. In specific torture. For years. Death would be an easy out. Why kill him off, when you can torture him for YEARS. That sounds much better to me, personally.
That's my view on it. Take it or leave it.

An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind. I kill your loved one, so you kill me. Does that give my sister the right to go and kill you? And then give one of your kids the right to kill my sister? Where does it end?

See my whole thing on really bad people (aka the va tech gunman, molesters, people of this sort) shouldn't get the death penalty bc its too easy. I think we should stop doing all our scientific tests on animals and such and do them on these criminals..and when we are done with them if they live..then shoot them :)
